Honkajoki has reinforced its commitment to a sustainable, ethical, and legally compliant value chain through its updated Supplier Code of Conduct, which sets out the minimum standards required from all suppliers and business partners. This framework forms the basis for responsible collaboration and reflects the company’s view that accountability extends beyond its own operations.
The Supplier Code of Conduct defines the baseline requirements that suppliers must follow when working with Honkajoki, establishing a shared foundation for responsible practices across the supply chain. The Code covers key areas such as legal compliance, ethical business conduct, environmental responsibility, human rights and labour standards, animal welfare, occupational health and safety, and data protection.
Its purpose is to ensure adherence to applicable laws, promote transparent and fair business practices, support safe working conditions, reduce environmental impacts, and protect confidential information. The Code also enables Honkajoki to request documentation, conduct audits when necessary, and take action in cases of serious or repeated non‑compliance.
Additional, tailored requirements apply to animal by‑product raw material suppliers, with emphasis on quality, traceability, and animal welfare, as well as to logistics partners, who must meet strict safety and regulatory standards.
Honkajoki’s objective is for all key suppliers to acknowledge and commit to the Code, promoting similar standards within their own supply chains and fostering long‑term partnerships built on transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
