Ice creams, yoghurts and animal health: Yogupet, the Spanish company now thriving across Europe

Yogupet, the company founded in Lleida by Àngel Ribes and Jordi Balp, has become one distinctive proposal in the functional pet nutrition segment. What began as a practical solution to support young animals during the transition from milk to solid food has evolved into a full portfolio now present in 14 European countries.

The project originated with a clear purpose: to accompany animals through one of the most delicate stages of their development. Its first concept, based on adapted dairy formulations, offered a gentle and functional alternative to ease the shift from maternal feeding to kibble. Over time, Yogupet expanded this initial idea into a broader range of lactose‑free pasteurised yoghurts and kefirs for dogs and cats, designed as complementary food, treats or digestive support.

Innovation has remained central to the brand. Yogupet has developed products such as 2+Pro, formulated with collagen, egg membrane and inulin for joint and digestive wellbeing, and Flamapet, aimed at inflammatory support. Among its most distinctive creations are its functional pet ice creams, available in flavours such as red berries, apple, kiwi, banana and coconut.

After consolidating its presence in Catalonia and Spain, the company has expanded rapidly across Europe, gaining strong traction in demanding markets such as France. Despite its international growth, Yogupet maintains a firm connection to its roots in Lleida, where it continues to develop new ideas to push the brand further.
