Cotécnica strengthens growth to nearly €170M driven by Ownat and its premium positioning

Cotécnica closed 2025 with revenues of €169.2 million, marking a 7% increase compared with the previous year. This growth was largely fuelled by the strong performance of Ownat, the company’s pet food brand, which now represents 76% of Cotécnica’s pet food business. Ownat grew by 19% during the year, consolidating the cooperative’s premium and super‑premium positioning in an increasingly competitive market.

The pet food division reached €115 million, with exports accounting for 66% of total turnover. Over the past five years, Cotécnica has quadrupled its international sales, strengthening its presence in key European markets such as France, Portugal, Italy, Belgium and Poland, while also expanding into Latin America (Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador) and Asia (China, Taiwan and Japan), regions known for their demanding regulatory frameworks.

In 2025, the cooperative invested over €10 million, including the launch of a new laboratory dedicated to quality improvement, control processes and research in animal nutrition. Additional investments focused on enhancing industrial efficiency and optimising production capacity to support long‑term growth. Cotécnica currently employs 190 people.
