The Montenegro International Veterinary Congress is recognised as the leading veterinary congress in the Iberian Peninsula and brings together vets, veterinary nurses, students, researchers, industry organisations and internationally renowned experts over two days dedicated to scientific excellence, professional development and high-quality networking.

The 22nd edition will take place on 9 and 10 October 2026 at Europarque, Santa Maria da Feira, near Porto, Portugal. Based on the principles of Knowledge, Science and Community, the congress offers a comprehensive scientific programme designed to link cutting-edge research with daily clinical practice, whilst fostering collaboration amongst different professionals in the veterinary sector.

The 2026 programme will feature internationally renowned speakers, such as Dr Sue Ettinger (United States), one of the world’s leading veterinary oncologists; Prof. Alain Fontbonne (France), an internationally recognised specialist in animal reproduction; Dr Adam Mugford (United Kingdom), Dr Luis Feo (Spain) and Dr Sara Longo (Italy), as well as over 50 national and international speakers who will address areas such as oncology, internal medicine, surgery, neurology, feline medicine, anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, reproduction, veterinary nursing, communication, veterinary practice management and emerging technologies.

Complementing the scientific programme, the congress hosts one of the largest veterinary exhibitions in southern Europe, where leading companies showcase the latest innovations, products and services for veterinary practice. More than just an educational event, the congress has become a meeting point where professionals, academic institutions and companies connect, share knowledge and help shape the future of animal health.

The 2025 edition welcomed 3,872 participants, including vets, veterinary nurses, students, exhibitors and speakers, reinforcing its position as one of the leading veterinary events in southern Europe.
