Handtmann presents two innovations that strengthen its position in the premium pet food sector, offering dedicated solutions for both wet and raw products as well as for shaped dry food, treats, and snacks.
In the wet and raw pet food segment, the new DS 560 P features an integrated container‑handling system that enables the processing of a wide range of packaging formats — bowls, cups, cans, jars, and thermoformed packs — while ensuring precise dosing regardless of shape or material. The technology is designed to handle complex masses with large inclusions such as tendons, cartilage, or vegetable cubes, preserving product structure and ensuring a premium appearance. Optimised processing paths allow the system to reach up to 200 containers per minute in configurations of 2 to 8 dosing stations, representing a significant productivity boost.
In parallel, the company introduces advancements in snack and treat production with the FS 510 forming system, capable of creating a wide variety of 2D and 3D shapes — from cubes, bars, and hearts to customised designs such as paws or bones — also with inclusions. Its weight accuracy, up to 30% higher than pressure‑based systems, reduces give‑away and optimises costs for small, high‑value products. With up to 24 forming lanes and open‑interface modules, the system integrates seamlessly into downstream processes such as cooking, drying, and automation.
