R2 Agro launches Cabanin® PET, its new natural antioxidant for pet food

Danish company R2 Agro, based in Hedensted, Jylland, and specialised in natural, science‑backed functional ingredients for animal nutrition, has introduced Cabanin® PET, a new antioxidant solution specifically developed for dog and cat food. The product is derived from the well‑documented Cabanin® CSD and adapted to the needs of modern pet food formulations.

Cabanin® PET is a natural polyphenol premix made from selected botanical sources and provides a minimum of 8.5% total polyphenols. It is designed to support the animal’s natural antioxidant defence system and help reduce the need for high inclusion levels of vitamins E and C, which are commonly used to manage oxidative stress in pet food.

According to R2 Agro, the product offers a cost‑effective antioxidant strategy, strong biological performance and good palatability. It has been well accepted in dog diets, with additional positive indications from small‑scale acceptance tests in cats. Results from the KRL biological antioxidative test showed that Cabanin® PET delivers an antioxidant defence potential at least as effective as Cabanin® CSD, achieving a 35% improvement compared to control.

The company provides further technical information and support through its team of pet nutrition specialists.
