Nutravet, the UK-based pet nutraceutical company, has presented the results of a study carried out in collaboration with VidiVet to evaluate the effectiveness of its joint support chews Nutraquin in dogs showing signs of stiffness. The research was based on a relevant figure: up to 35% of dogs may experience joint issues during their lifetime, affecting their mobility and overall quality of life.
The study included 130 dogs, assessed by veterinarians at days 7 and 30 of supplementation. Not all animals who took part in the initial benchmark survey were ultimately included, in order to ensure that the cases represented situations suitable for standard nutraceutical intervention without compromising animal welfare.
Participating owners provided additional information on their dogs’ progress throughout the study period, describing positive changes in mobility and general comfort.
Lianne O’Boyle, Clinical Lead at Nutravet, highlighted the company’s commitment to scientific validation and transparency. From VidiVet, veterinary surgeon Sarah Holmes welcomed the collaboration and the outcomes observed in the participating animals.
