New findings reinforce Hill’s Prescription Diet ONC/ON‑Care

Hill’s Pet Nutrition has released new data that further strengthens the role of specialized nutrition within canine oncology. After setting a milestone in this category with the launch of Prescription Diet ONC/ON‑Care, the company now presents prospective results evaluating the impact of this highly palatable, energy‑dense therapeutic food in canine oncology patients.

The findings come from two prospective multi‑center studies and show consistent benefits across key health parameters. Dogs maintained a high level of appetite and enthusiasm for the food throughout the 56‑day evaluation period. In addition, all dogs fed the study diet gained weight, with the response in the U.S. study doubling that of dogs who remained on their regular food.

Researchers also reported improvements in muscle condition and a reduction in C‑reactive protein (CRP), an inflammation marker. Pet owners noted a high quality of life, preserved interactions with their dogs, and normal stool quality during the study.

These results highlight the importance of a complete, balanced diet specifically designed to support nutritional status in the context of canine oncology, reinforcing the value of Prescription Diet ONC/ON‑Care as part of a multimodal treatment approach.
