Yesterday, ANFAAC, the Spanish Association of Pet Food Manufacturers, participated in the General Assembly and Annual Congress of FEDIAF – The European Pet Food Industry, held in Brussels. The event served as a key meeting point for discussion, coordination and strategic reflection within the European pet food sector. The Spanish delegation was composed of Secretary General Santiago De Andrés Juárez; Technical Director Pablo Hervás Calle; and Víctor Romano, ANFAAC’s representative on the FEDIAF Executive Committee, who all took an active role in the sessions.
Under the theme “Future‑Ready Pet Food: Policies, Innovation and Consumers for the Next Decade”, the congress brought together policymakers, industry representatives and other relevant stakeholders to examine the main challenges and opportunities shaping the sector. Discussions focused on the evolution of the European regulatory framework, sustainability priorities, advances in innovation and formulation, and the shifting expectations of consumers across the continent.
The annual gathering once again positioned itself as an essential platform for sector dialogue, regulatory alignment and knowledge exchange among member countries, reinforcing the role of the European pet food industry in an increasingly demanding global context.
