Vitafoods Europe 2026 opens with a landmark edition for pet nutraceuticals

Barcelona today kicked off an unprecedented edition of Vitafoods Europe for the pet nutraceuticals sector. From the early hours of the morning, the exhibition centre showed remarkable dynamism, with a constant flow of pet‑segment professionals drawn by the growing relevance of the Pet Nutrition Hub and the consolidation of the pet category within the event.

The opening day placed the spotlight on innovation, science and quality — three pillars that are redefining the development of ingredients and functional solutions for dogs and cats. Exhibitors unveiled new formats, innovative ingredients and cutting‑edge technologies.

The event also stands out for its awards recognising pet nutraceutical products, highlighting proposals supported by solid scientific evidence and formulations designed to promote holistic wellbeing. In addition, the dedicated startup areas are attracting significant attention, showcasing disruptive projects in microbiome, joint health, ageing and personalised nutrition.

With Barcelona as its backdrop, Vitafoods Europe 2026 begins an edition that marks a turning point for the pet nutraceutical industry.
